Case Study

Before founding CodeHills, Danish collaborated directly with Social Shopper Inc. on CoCarting, a platform designed to transform online shopping into a collaborative, real-time social experience. The product combined shared wishlists, live group decision-making, chat, voting, and multi-store browsing to help friends, families, and communities shop together more naturally and interactively across different online retailers.

When Danish joined the project, the platform had already been developed but was facing a large number of technical issues, stability problems, and feature gaps that impacted the overall user experience. Danish worked across both frontend and backend systems to resolve existing bugs, improve application reliability, and continue expanding the platform with new functionality and integrations.

A major part of the work involved integrating external affiliate and product data systems, including Awin and Walmart APIs, to automatically fetch and display product listings from multiple sources. Danish implemented backend synchronization workflows powered by scheduled CRON jobs, enabling the platform to continuously process and update product data efficiently and reliably.

Beyond infrastructure and API integrations, Danish also implemented several user-focused features that strengthened the collaborative shopping experience. This included real-time chat and calling functionality, review systems, and additional interactive platform features designed to improve engagement, communication, and social interaction between users throughout the shopping journey.

The project also involved significant cloud infrastructure and deployment responsibilities. Danish worked with AWS-based backend systems and implemented CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline to streamline deployments and improve development consistency. In addition, he deployed and secured a Ghost CMS instance on an AWS EC2 server, implementing server-level security improvements and operational configurations to ensure better reliability and protection for the platform infrastructure.

What made the collaboration especially valuable was not only Danish’s technical versatility, but also the trust and reliability he brought throughout the engagement. His ability to work across frontend systems, backend services, real-time communication features, cloud infrastructure, third-party integrations, and deployment automation helped support the continued evolution of a complex and socially driven digital product.
